Missing teeth can cause a wide range of oral health issues including the misalignment of the remaining teeth, food and debris getting caught in the gap, tooth decay, loss of bone to the jaw, and changes to the facial structure which can lead to signs of ageing.
They can also make it difficult to eat and speak and can leave patients feeling self-conscious about their smiles. At The York Dental Suite, we want all our patients to leave the practice feeling confident and happy with their smiles, which is just one of the reasons why replacement is so important.
Unlike dentures, dental implants do not mess around with adhesives, and you do not have to worry about slippages which means you can eat and speak with freedom again. Implants also help support your facial structure and the bone density of your jaw, helping to keep you looking healthier and younger for longer, while also helping to maintain and promote your oral wellbeing and dental hygiene well into the future.
There are different types of dental implants according to your needs. Talk to our certified dentist and we will discuss all the options you needed to find the best solution needed.

With proper care, dental implants can last a lifetime. The implant itself, which is embedded in the jawbone, is permanent.
The crown (the visible part of the implant) may need to be replaced after 10 to 15 years due to normal wear, but the implant structure remains intact.
Most patients are surprised by how little discomfort they experience during the dental implant procedure.
We use local anaesthesia to numb the area, so you won’t feel pain during the treatment. After the procedure, there may be some mild soreness or swelling, but this can be managed with over-the-counter pain relief, and it usually subsides after a few days.
Absolutely! If you’re missing more than one tooth, dental implants are a great solution.
You can have individual implants for each tooth, or in some cases, fewer implants can support multiple teeth with implant-supported bridges or dentures. We’ll discuss your options and find the best solution for your needs.
The cost of the treatment in York varies depending on the number of implants needed and the complexity of the procedure. On average, dental implants can start from anywhere between £3,000 to £4,000 per implant.
