Luckily, we’ve teamed up with Boutique Whitening and Enlighten Evolution to provide our patients with two of the most successful teeth whitening treatments on the market.
Teeth whitening uses a whitening agent such as hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide to penetrate the tooth enamel and break down the discoloured molecules there, thereby brightening the teeth.
The process will depend on which teeth whitening journey you choose to go on. We offer both home-based and combination treatments here at The York Dental Suite, both of which use bespoke whitening trays made off-site and worn at home. Patients who choose a combination treatment will then finish off their treatment with an appointment in the practice.
Teeth whitening can cause some sensitivity and discomfort in some patients. At The York Dental Suite, we work with Boutique Whitening and Enlighten Evolution both of whom have developed gel formulas that are kind on the teeth, ensuring there’s as little sensitivity as possible. The whitening trays are also measured and made especially for you, ensuring a comfortable experience for the patient throughout.
This will depend on the individual and several lifestyle factors such as whether you drink red wine, tea, coffee, coloured fizzy drinks, or smoke. Most patients maintain their whiter shade for 6-12 months, and you can help prolong the results through whitening toothpastes and serums.
